Photographing Chris and Raechel’s romantic wedding at Ivy Ridge was such a joy. This incredible venue is located just outside of Barrie, Ontario. Raechel planned the entire day herself and there were so many thoughtful details that made it special. The day began with the couple getting ready in the main house. Chris wore the same cuff links and tie clip that his grandfather wore on his wedding day. Raechel had a ribbon in her bouquet and a piece of lace that had been passed down through 4 generations of her family. They shared an intimate first look outside and I took portraits of them with their beloved dog, Stella.
Together, they walked over to the pavilion where their guests were waiting, and had their ceremony surrounded by lush forest and mature gardens. Everyone blew bubbles in celebration as the newlyweds left the pavilion and walked over to where Chris’ grandfather’s vintage car was parked for a few more portraits, just the two of them. Then they met everyone for a cocktail hour, followed by their reception in the beautifully restored barn. Chris comes from a family of farmers and they actually grew the carrots that were served with their dinner. They ended the evening with a champagne tower, sparklers and dancing. I hope you enjoy some of my favourite photos from this wedding below!
